Platt Tech Sustainable Architecture Places 1st in the CT Science Fair
Congratulate to Ashely Ramos, Bruno Valdivia, and Katelyn Zayas for winning first place in the CT Science Fair. Their “Palingenesis Project” seeks to find a sustainable alternative to our modern Funeral Industry by creating a net zero funeral home that utilizes green burial methods. Thank you to their academic teachers for once again being flexible in regards to any class time they needed to make up or access periods they needed to work through. I would also like to thank Dr. Grace and Ms. Stamp for all of their assistance on this project with helping the students to understand the actual science behind their proposal, along with IT and Mechatronics/ Electronics for helping us with the “virtual” part of the fair. Lastly, thanks to all of you who stopped down to check the project out and ask the students questions about it. Because the students were able to practice explaining their ideas, their presentation was incredible. Next stop for them will be the Genius Olympiad Competition in Rochester, NY, where they will present their project on the international level!
