Platt Tech Information Technology Students are NASA HUNCH Finalists

For the third time the Information Technology shop at Platt Tech has placed finalist in the NASA HUNCH Software competition. The NASA HUNCH mission is to empower and inspire students through a Project Based Learning program where high school students learn 21st century skills and have the opportunity to launch their careers through the participation in the design and fabrication of real world valued products for NASA. This year our students create a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to allow astronauts to establish, conduct and collect data on experiments in space. This includes controlling cameras, collecting and storing data, using sensors to measure temperature and humidity in real time to name a few. Out of six teams that are going to Houston’s Johnson Space Center Platt has three of them! 

Our team members are Bridgette Nealy and Kavin Lajara, Aurelie Elias and Josueth Salverredy and Rainah Allen.
