Happy Birthday!

Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Lauralton Hall, our Milford neighbor, is celebrating a major milestone: 120 years! To kick off their anniversary festivities, they hosted a Spring Gala and Auction on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

The theme for the evening was fittingly a “Birthday Party,” and of course, no birthday celebration is complete without a cake! Lauralton wanted a cake large enough to serve 150 guests and asked that the design highlight the iconic turrets of the historic Pond-Taylor Mansion.

Built in 1864, the Pond-Taylor Mansion is a significant landmark on High Street in Milford, proudly listed on both the State and National Registries of Historic Properties. Lauralton Hall, founded in 1905 by the Sisters of Mercy, has been dedicated to educating young women for over a century.

Pictured below are some of our Senior students hard at work designing and decorating the cakes — and the incredible finished product! This project was a wonderful display of teamwork and creativity.

A special thank you to Chef Mingay and the Sophomore class for baking the cakes, and to the Seniors for their beautiful decorating work!
